The Moroccan bath

The treatment most of our guests come for, and the one they tell other people about.

How the ritual works

A traditional hammam follows the same shape wherever it is done. This is what that shape is — the exact products and timings depend on the version you book.

A brass bowl of water, a bar of traditional olive black soap, a kessa exfoliating mitt and a scoop of mineral clay on warm marble, with steam drifting through the light
  1. 01

    Steam

Warmth first, so the skin softens and opens. Nothing is rushed at this stage, and it is the part most people underestimate.

  2. 02

    Black soap

Traditional savon beldi, made from olives, applied and then left to do its work while the steam continues.

  3. 03

    Kessa exfoliation

The part everyone remembers. A kessa mitt lifts away dead skin that a shower simply does not reach.

  4. 04

    Clay and rinse

A mineral clay to draw and soothe, then a full rinse — and skin that feels genuinely new rather than merely clean.

  5. 05

    Finish

Moisturised, wrapped, and given time to come back to yourself. This is a ritual, not an appointment slot.

Worth knowing before you book

  • Allow more time than you think — this is not a treatment to squeeze into a lunch break.
  • Tell us about sensitive skin, recent waxing, sunburn or any skin condition when you book, so we can adjust or advise against it.
  • It is a private treatment. If it is your first time, say so and we will explain each stage as we go.
